Since its public launch in October 2025, the Dynamic Incentivization (DI) program element’s GoMyWayVA® app is earning recognition from transportation and marketing organizations while continuing to expand its reach through regional partnerships and community engagement. The app is designed to help travelers make informed travel choices through trip planning, rewards, personalized mobility information, and incentives to choose transit, carpool, vanpool, and biking instead of driving alone.
National Recognition for Innovation and Outreach
GoMyWayVA® has already received multiple national awards, notably for the integrated marketing and outreach efforts supporting its launch.

Featured in ACT’s 2025 Global TDM Impact Report
The Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) recently recognized GoMyWayVA® in its 2025 Global TDM Impact Report, which focuses on impactful Travel Demand Management (TDM) initiatives from around the world.
The report highlighted the phased launch approach used by the DI team, which combined stakeholder engagement, targeted outreach, and marketing activities to build awareness and adoption before the app’s full public launch.
- During the initial phase, more than 260,000 impressions were generated, over 1,300 early users joined the program, and 55 stakeholder events helped introduce the app to regional travelers.
- Following launch, the initiative achieved a 16.15% average organic engagement rate and reached more than 2,500 users through organic outreach efforts.
The report recognized GoMyWayVA® as an example of how strategic partnerships and community engagement can help drive transportation technology adoption.
Partnerships and Outreach Activities Continue to Drive Success
Partnerships remain at the core of the DI program element. GoMyWayVA® was developed through collaboration among VDOT, DRPT, NVTA, FAMPO, regional transportation partners, local jurisdictions, Commuter Assistance Program (CAP) operators, community organizations, and private-sector partners. This collaborative approach continues to play an important role in growing awareness and encouraging participation throughout the region.
Recent outreach activities included community events in Fredericksburg, Loudoun County, Fairfax County, and other locations across the region. During spring outreach efforts alone, the team engaged with more than 335 event attendees and generated more than 150 app downloads through in-person events. Regional partners also helped distribute promotional materials and amplify GoMyWayVA® through websites, newsletters, social media channels, and community outreach programs. Agency partners interested in supporting these outreach efforts can request access to the GoMyWayVA® Toolkit by contacting the RM3P team at RM3P@vdot.virginia.gov.
New Carpooling Functionality Coming Soon
As GoMyWayVA® continues to evolve, users can also look forward to new carpooling capabilities currently in development, one of the most requested enhancements identified through the recent independent RM3P evaluation. The upcoming features will allow travelers to create and manage scheduled carpools, connect with nearby riders through larger carpool groups, and participate in on-demand carpool trips. Additional functionality will include trip tracking, rider matching, safety features, and integration with existing trip-planning tools.
A phased rollout is anticipated, beginning with testing and refinement, followed by a “soft” launch with existing users in July/August without a marketing campaign, and a broad public release and marketing campaign in October 2026.
Looking Ahead
As the DI program element continues to grow, GoMyWayVA® remains focused on helping travelers make informed, flexible, and cost-effective transportation choices and nudging commuters into behavior changes that include electing to not commute alone or changing the time of travel that takes drivers out of the peak-time commute. Through continued innovation, strong regional partnerships, and new features such as carpooling, the program is helping advance RM3P’s mission of improving mobility, reliability, and travel options throughout Northern Virginia and Fredericksburg.
