AI-DSS Early Adopters
The Artificial Intelligence-Based Decision Support System (AI-DSS) project team gives a huge shout out to its Early-Adopters – a small group of key regional stakeholders who are embracing AI-DSS with open arms. The AI-DSS Early-Adopter Team – VDOT TOC, VDOT Signals, AI-DSS Steering Committee Executive, MATOC, PRTC/OmniRide, Fairfax Connector, and WMATA – will play a crucial role in the Epic 3 I-95 Polygon Pilot Area phase by:
- Helping to finalize system views for their respective agencies.
- Supporting System Acceptance Testing (SAT) with a focus on user experience.
- Testing the AI-DSS system in a limited capacity after deployment to ensure it meets agency needs.
- Advocating for the system within their agencies ahead of the full rollout in 2025.
- Providing feedback to improve processes and user experiences.
The Early-Adopter Team is essential to shaping and refining the system for successful launch.
DEP Contributors
RM3P, a data-driven program, relies on its foundational component, called the Data-Exchange Platform (DEP) for its success. Over the past several years, multiple agencies have contributed valuable data to the platform and invested in its sharing mechanisms. The RM3P team is grateful for these contributions, especially from a few consistent partners, Transurban, VRE, and WMATA to name a few.
Transurban
Their traffic data has been critical to AI-DSS development, making DSS responses more efficient. Toll-rate data shared via the SmarterRoads portal is enhancing transparency in the upcoming GoMyWayVA app by clearly showing journey costs.
VRE
The first agency to contribute non-VDOT data to DEP. VRE went above and beyond by adding disruption data to its GTFS-RT feed, ensuring a smooth collaboration.
WMATA
A leader in sharing data with developers, WMATA uniquely provides parking occupancy data exclusively to DEP, thereby supporting CPIS.
The parking occupancy data from VRE and WMATA will be made available through the upcoming GoMyWayVA app in supporting an inter-modal trip journey.
