Season’s Greetings from RM3P!
As 2023 winds down, the Regional Multi-Modal Mobility Program Management Team wishes you a joyous holiday season. We thank you for your continued support and participation in RM3P.
Because of the dedication and hard work of a great many agency partners, we have achieved a significant milestone – contract execution and kick-off of the Artificial Intelligence-Based Decision Support System (AI-DSS) for enhancing transportation incident management. The AI-DSS is the second RM3P component to move forward towards implementation, joining the previously-deployed companion system, the Data-Exchange Platform (DEP). Learn more about the AI-DSS approach and status in the next issue of the RM3P Digest, coming to your inbox in early 2024.
Procurement of two additional RM3P components – Dynamic Incentivization (DI) and the Commuter Parking Information Services (CPIS) – is still underway. The management team is hopeful that the development and deployment of both these technology components will begin during the first part of next year.
The team has also been hard at work on defining an approach to RM3P Sustainability including strategies for long-term stewardship and funding of the program. Under the leadership of NVTA, DRPT, and VDOT, a proposed plan will be presented to the RM3P Executive Committee in January 2024 to chart the course of future actions.
A special thanks to everyone of you who has contributed to RM3P this year. We are especially grateful to those public agency partners who have served on various panels and committees, volunteered their time, and generously shared their expertise. We truly appreciate your feedback and participation to implement this important program.
As we embark on a new year, we wish you peace and joy throughout this season. We look forward to continuing to engage with you, and keeping you updated on all things RM3P. Stay tuned and best wishes for a happy and healthy 2024!
